　　With the rapid pace of consumer life, food packaging which can be directly used for microwave heating will become a new hot spot in the field of food packaging development. Due to the current use of aluminum foil and some plastic composite materials made of packaging has opaque, not easy to recycle, can not be directly used for microwave processing and other shortcomings, in recent years, the newly available Siox-plated materials can be used as a good substitute. SiOx material is a kind of thin layer silicon oxide coated on PET, PA, PP and other substrates. It not only has better barrier performance, but also has excellent adaptability to atmospheric environment. The barrier property of SiOx material is hardly affected by the change of ambient humidity and temperature. SiOx coating has high barrier, high microwave transmittance, transparency, can be used for microwave processing food soft packaging, can also be made into beverage and edible oil packaging containers. SiOx material has also been applied in China. Although the cost of SiOx coating is high and the large-scale commercial production technology is not perfect, because of its special properties, SiOx coating will become an important packaging material in this century.
